Nextage srl

About the Institution

Nextage is an innovative SME with strong expertise in the biomedical sector and a proven track record of participation in research programmes at regional, national, and European level. The company operates in the ICT market across three business areas:

  • Digital — management and development of web software projects using state-of-the-art programming technologies and tools (AngularJS, HTML5, NoSQL databases, hybrid frameworks, etc.);
  • Governance — consulting in Information Security (ISO/IEC 27001), Quality, IT Service Management, Business Continuity (ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 20000 & ITILv4, ISO 22301), risk assessment, secure development, privacy compliance and GDPR for general and clinical data management;
  • Innovation — research services and management of funded programmes, in-house and contract R&D in the biomedical and ICT fields, including Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins, Sustainable Mobility, and support for start-up initiatives.

In recent years, leveraging the tight integration of its three business areas and deep market knowledge, Nextage has expanded its operational capacity — in terms of new hires and new clients — and its financial standing, establishing long-term contracts and consolidated partnerships. The company currently operates from offices in Genova and Cagliari and employs a total of 25 people (2 managing partners, 23 employees including 6 software developers, 6 research technicians, and 2 industrial PhD candidates).

  • Training capabilities — Nextage delivers training courses on Management Systems, Gender Equality, Risk Management, Information Security Controls and Cybersecurity, GDPR, and OWASP Secure Coding, aligned with the main international standards (ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO/IEC 20000-1, ITIL v4, ISO 22301, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SA 8000, ISO 30415, UNI/PdR 125, ISO 37001, UNI 11034). Trainers are accredited with certified bodies including RINA, GeRiCO, and ITS-ICT Accademia Digitale Liguria.
  • Networking — Through funded research programmes, Nextage maintains strong ties with academic and research institutions at regional, national (IIT, CNR, Universities of Genova, Sassari, Ca' Foscari Venice, Cassino, Sapienza, Politecnico di Milano and Torino), and international level (Universities of Patras, Aarhus, Vienna). The company collaborates with leading regional and national centres of excellence in health and rehabilitation (San Martino, Galliera, Gaslini, Bambin Gesù, San Raffaele IRCCS, Mario Negri IRCCS, Fondazione Chiossone, FISM) and provides consulting services to major players in the Health, ICT, and Cybersecurity sectors, with longstanding relationships involving approximately 150 SMEs and large enterprises.
